Kevan visited Beamish Court, Stanley to meet with residents and with staff to discuss issues with the nearby Old Board School building.
Despite being boarded up a number of times, the Old Board School is regularly broken into and recently the Fire Service had to attend as someone was trapped inside. This is causing a regular nightly nuisance to nearby residents and in the past two weeks alone the Police have attended 13 times.
Kevan has written to Durham County Council to raise concerns about this and to ask what further action will be taken to ensure that the building is properly secured.
Kevan has also contacted Cllr Carl Marshall who is the Cabinet Member for Regeneration to ask him to attend a meeting with residents to discuss these issues further.
