Kevan Jones, Member of Parliament for North Durham, attended an event on Friday 17 June organised by Durham and Chester-le-Street Carers Support, coinciding with National Carers Week.
At the event at the Red Lion on Front Street, Chester-le-Street, Mr. Jones met with carers and unveiled a display of work by members of the group.
Mr. Jones said, “I am very pleased to attend such an important event, which highlights the valuable work carers do on a daily basis. They are an asset to our community and I hope that an event such as this demonstrates our appreciation for the extraordinary work they do, and highlights the services available to support them.”
