Kevan hosted a public meeting along with County Councillor Olga Milburn with residents of Clough Dene on 19 February 2020.
The meeting was called in response to a petition from local residents regarding concerns about Road Safety through Clough Dene, just outside of Tantobie. The meeting was held at Tantobie Community Centre and was very well attended.
Kevan said:
“I would like to thank all of the residents that attended the meeting to discuss their concerns. Road safety is a massive issue for many communities in North Durham.
“I know there have been a catalogue of incidents and instances of speeding at Clough Dene and I understand the frustration and disappointment with the County Council’s response to the petition last year.
“I will be writing to the County Council to request a site meeting with Highways Officers and will keep residents informed.”
If you did not attend the meeting but would like to be kept updated on this issue, please email Kevan on [email protected] or contact his Constituency Office on 0191 3710 8834.
In response to a separate petition re road safety on Station Lane between Pelton and Pelton Fell, Kevan is in the process of arranging a separate public meeting, likely to be held at Pelton Fell Memorial Park.
