Kevan attended West Pelton Primary School for their Be Internet Legends Assembly last week.

The assemblies are part of a wider campaign by Google and the Parent Zone offering free resources to primary schools, including lesson plans, information for parents and certificates for children to encourage them to be safer and more confident online.

Kevan said:

“I was delighted to meet the pupils at West Pelton, and join their assembly about online safety.

I know that many parents in North Durham are worried about this issue, and it is so important that children are equipped to access the opportunities offered by the Internet in a safe and confident way.

The Google team are real experts in this area, and they were able to share very serious messages in an interesting and engaging way.  I learnt a lot and I am sure the children did too!”
