Kevan Jones, Member of Parliament for North Durham has congratulated four students from Roseberry Sports & Community College, Pelton, after they were recognised by the Royal Bank of Scotland Personal Finance Education Awards, which is open to all primary & secondary schools in Scotland, England and Wales.
The nominated students have been selected due to the contribution they have made in raising financial awareness as the “Roseberry Money Saving Experts”, printing posters, having ‘drop-in’ sessions with students, and creating animations for the reception area of the college. They have even created their own enterprise business, selling mini body sprays during sports lessons and returning a profit in the process.
Kevan Jones said, “I am very pleased to support such a wonderful group of students, all of whom demonstrate excellent knowledge on money-saving and wise investment. Furthermore, it highlights the excellent work schools are doing in my constituency in developing financial skills that will be invaluable for them in the years ahead. I am immensely proud at what they have achieved.”
Mr Jones attended the awards ceremony on Thursday June 16, at the prestigious Millbank Tower in London. To find out more visit www.pfe-awards.co.uk
