Funding is still available from the Big Lottery for Veterans to take part in the Heroes Return project.
Heroes Return provides funding for those who served in the Second World War to return the places they saw active service or to attend commeration events in the UK, with grants of up to £5,500 available.
The scheme is not means tested and available to those who are resident in the UK or Ireland. Grants can also be for spouses or carers to accompany the veteran, and also in most cases for widows and widowers of veterans as well.
So far Heroes Return 2 has made grants of more than £7.8 million to over 11,500 veterans.
