On Saturday 9 July, Kevan Jones MP went along to Beamish Museum, where people living with dementia and their friends and families enjoyed a step back in time together.

The weekend is part of the UK-wide Dementia Awareness Week™ which aims to raise awareness and understanding of dementia and give people the opportunity to find out more information. Beamish Museum works extensively with people who have dementia by providing reminiscence sessions in community care settings. The Museum has been working with Alzheimer’s Society and Stockton NHS to support Dementia Awareness Week™ 2011 with events in the community and at the Museum.
