On 14 August, Kevan visited the Nissan car plant at Sunderland.

The plant exports over 80% of the cars it makes, and directly employs around 6,000 people. It is also estimated that the factory is responsible for around 18,000 further jobs in the supply chain.

Kevain said, “I was delighted to visit Nissan to find out more about the work that goes on here, with much of it at the cutting edge of car manufacturing. Nissan is a vital part of the local economy, employing a large number of local people, including a number of my constituents.”
