Kevan Jones, Member of Parliament for North Durham, will visit the Norcare Veterans Centre in Newcastle on Friday 25 February.
The centre opened in November as the first centre of its kind outside of London, and provides a range of support services for veterans who have struggled to adapt to life outside the Armed Forces.
Mr. Jones said, “I am very pleased to have the opportunity to the visit the Norcare Veterans Centre to see the excellent work that goes on there. I attended the launch of the project when I was Veterans Minister, and am very much looking forward to seeing Norcare’s work in action.
“It is vitally important that we offer as much support as possible to our servicemen and women when they return home, and I know that Norcare offer a fantastic service, with help available on a range of issues, from accommodation to counselling and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.”
