Kevan Jones, Member of Parliament for North Durham, has welcomed efforts by Derwentside Enterprise, in conjunction with Co. Durham Enterprise Learning Partnership, to engage young people in North Durham and across the County in enterprise.

‘Enterprise TV’ will be broadcasting online on Tuesday 12 October from ‘Television Centre’ at East Durham with reporters based at schools around the county. The day will include showcases of best practice and live challenges, with active support from leading north east businesses, all with the aim of effectively promoting enterprise.

Mr Jones said: “I am very pleased to show my support for ‘Enterprise TV’ and the excellent work that is being done to promote enterprise in schools in my constituency, and around Durham.

“Derwentside Enterprise Agency has done very well to pull together such a stimulating and rewarding series of challenges and events. I know from my visit to Tanfield School, when students were taking part in the Formica Challenge, of how effective exercises such as this can be in promoting enterprise amongst our young people.”
