Kevan Jones joined Roberta Blackman-Woods MP, Cllr Brian Myers, Chairman of Durham County Council and Deputy Chief Executive of the NHS Trust, Sue Jacques at a WRVS event to celebrate young volunteers.

The event, at Univeristy Hospital of North Durham, saw young volunteers presented with their vfifty certificates for giving 50 hours of their time to WRVS projects.

Kevan said “I would like to congratulate the recipients of these awards, as well as other young people who do vital voluntary work in their communities with organisations such as WRVS. The young volunteers should also be very proud to be part of an organisation like WRVS, with its excellent record of serving older and vulnerable people. The experience they gain through volunteering will no doubt stand them in good stead for the future.”
