On Friday 14 March, Kevan officially opened the new Parcelforce Newcastle Depot, on the Drum Industrial Estate, Chester-le-Street. The depot will serve the Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham areas.

Kevan Jones, MP for North Durham said: “I am delighted that Parcelforce Worldwide is expanding its Newcastle operation. I welcome the creation of local jobs for constituents which create a real boost for the local economy.

“As well as being a UK and international parcel delivery service, Parcelforce Worldwide is a local business and employer. I’m pleased that businesses and individuals in North Durham and the wider local area can benefit from this service.”

Mark Baker, Area General Manager of Parcelforce Worldwide, said: “I am delighted that Kevan Jones was able to officially open Parcelforce Worldwide’s new Newcastle depot. This depot is an essential part of our investment to grow our business. It will enable us to handle more parcels for the Newcastle area while ensuring we continue to provide a very high level of service to all of our customers.”
