On Friday 17 January, Kevan met with representatives from Tesco and local County Councillors to discuss the plans for a new Tesco store in Stanley.
The new plans are different from the ones that were originally given the go ahead in 2011, and therefore new planning permission will have to be sort, but the company confirmed they are still committed to the project.
Kevan said, “I hope this represents a revival in the fortunes of Stanley. We know that developments of this scale tend to attract further investment and that is what the town desperately needs.”
