Kevan Jones is visiting Fyndoune Community College on Friday 24th February to present awards to students and staff for their part in Fyndoune’s recent fantastic accolade. Fyndoune Community College is the Most Improved School in the Country on the most recent National League Table.

The most successful students from the last two years are taking a day away from their current work and studies to receive awards for their Outstanding Achievement.

Fyndoune Community College is part of the successful Durham Federation, a federation made up of two colleges which were in 2011 both judged to be Outstanding by OFSTED – an amazing achievement within which both colleges received a Grade 1 Outstanding for Teaching and Learning.

Chief Executive, Anne Lakey said – “Our staff and students now achieve at the very highest levels and we are incredibly proud of their success. Our students leave us with the very best life chances”

Kevan Jones, Member of Parliament for North Durham added, “I am very pleased to be able to join the celebrations at Fyndoune today. The improvements here over the last few years have been amazing, and I would like to offer my congratulations to students and staff alike. The recognition as the most improved school in the country is a testament to the hard-work of students and the dedication and commitment of the school leadership.”
