North Durham was well-represented amongst those recognised at the North East England Tourism Awards 2010.

Beamish Museum won the Bronze Award for Large Visitor Attraction, while Low Urpeth Farm also picked up a Bronze Award in the Taste of North East England category.

Kevan said, “I would like to pass on my congratulations both to Beamish Museum and Low Urpeth Farm.

“It is very pleasing to know that businesses in my constituency are making such an excellent contribution to the North East’s ever-growing tourism industry.”

The Tourism Awards were organised by One North East and took place at the Ramside Hall Hotel on 12 October, celebrating the best of an industry which employs over 65,000 people in our region.
